Popular restaurateur and chef Oliver da Costa conceived the first restaurant of aged beef in Portugal. K.O.B. stands for “Knowledge of Beef” and the menu provides a vast range of red meat from all over the globe, served in a warm and contem-porary environment. The brief was the re-design of an existing restaurant to a more modern dining space. Back-lit walnut bars and petrol leather seats are predominant elements and the mirrors, strategically placed, open-up the space and reflect the external lighting. A discrete rètro counter welcomes the guests, provides small tapas or appetisers and divides the en-trance from the main dining room. The restaurant can host a hundred customers per shift, here it is possible to consume important suppers or soft lunches, a larger dining area a’ la carte subdivided in more private niches.
